Oh what a beautiful day....
It is super fantastic weather this morning! If I didn't have to work in 40minutes I would be out in the garden eating up this weather... But, alas, work wins again.
I met my neighbor, the one with the beautiful yard, about 3 months ago. We had waved at one another a few times and spoken about gardens and birds but never formally introduced ourselves, probably because we had forgotten before we started acting like acquaintances. This morning, while outside checking on my drowned plants and drinking a latte him and I started up another conversation about birds and gardens. Finally at the end he told me his name and asked mine.
"My name is Terry what's yours?"
"Colleen"
"Cole-een?"
"No, Ca-lleen."
"I will bring you strawberries when they start to come up"
"and I will bring you vegetables if my plants survive."
"Ok, sounds like a deal!"
I am really starting to like it here, at least for now.

Adorable. My mom knows an old lady named Cole-een. And so every time she would say your name that's how she would pronounce it. Gah!
Fresh strawberries are awesome!
You know, the beginnings of wisdom lie in getting to know one's neighbors. Or something like that. It took us a long time to come out of our shells, bu tour first interactions were a lot like this one, with Steve & Jerry next door, of course.
