the love/hate of bicycles

People should be more attentive when driving. Both on bikes and cars. But, really... I should not have so much trouble in Columbia, MO.
I think of the excuses that drivers would make for being shits on the road, like...
"I am from a small town where people only ride bicycles on sidewalks, so I cut you off."
"I thought it was illegal for bicycles to be in traffic... that's why I honked at/yelled at/spun out my tires and sprayed snow on- you."
"I am a total jackass."

I am pretty patient. I typically follow bicycle street laws (would that be the name?) to the Q. But being a non-driver just makes me more bitter. Cannot these dumb asses tell that I am riding a bike in fucking 20 degree weather and below, you'd think not with how little respect they give. I should look into our public transportation for rides during winter...

I really miss warm weather.

I cannot wait for a winery trip. Although the ride in July is hot, the trees are full. If you hit the right time of day the trees shade one side and the Missouri River cliffs the other. If you hit a nice day sitting at the winery is perfect. Atop the cliffs with a view of the river and tree covered cliffs beyond! And, with my new 3 speed the ride will be easier than on my cruiser. I've been day dreaming of this.

I give it 2 months if lucky, but more like 3.
